FALL BALL LEAGUE
NJJBA Fall Baseball League
NJJBA has two options of play in our Fall Ball Program: the eight and under (8U) machine pitch, or the 9 through 14 year old (9U-14U) kid pitch. There is not any Tee Ball offered in Fall Ball. All games are played on Sundays, normally between late morning and early afternoon, as to not interfere with any of fall sports.
- The 8U program is for any player that is under 8 years old as of May 1 next season and will not be playing in the 9U division next spring. We only do Machine pitch for 8U and no Kid pitch. It is important that you sign up for the correct division if your are moving from 8U up to 9U in the spring. You will play 9U in fall, many other players are also seeing a live pitched ball for the first time, so it's important to pay attention. This is typically if your child is going into 3rd grade in the upcoming fall year.
- The 9U-14U program is for all players moving into the 9U and up to the 14U program in the spring of next season.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The goal of the Fall Ball program is to give the players more game time, to possibly learn new positions, to try something different, to enjoy stress free baseball, and to play the game for the pure fun of playing. We limit the number of runs scored per inning to keep the game moving, and don't keep standings. However, we do have an end of season tournament to give the season a little competitive flare at the end. We consider the fall ball program our “spring training”.
The players will register at the age they will be playing during the next year spring season. That will be the age of the player on May 1, of next year. For example, if the player played at the 10U level during the current year spring season, and will be 11 on or before May 1 of next season, they will register for 11U division. This becomes very helpful for ages that are changing base and/or pitching distances in the next spring season to prepare.
We allow for one outdoor practice field day per team per week, and one slot to use our excellent indoor practice facility for hitting/pitching practice. Practices are at the coaches discretion as field availability is limited.
Wood bats are allowed but not required, but we also allow any bats that are legal for RMJBL/NJJBA Spring rules for the age group you are playing in.
Date and Payments:
Games are scheduled to begin mid-August and continue until mid-October. No games are played on Labor Day weekend or Jeffco Schools Fall Break. Barring any serious weather, each team will play eight (8) games, and there may or may not be double headers. There is an end of season tournament for all teams to end the season off from 9U-14U, this is scheduled in mid-October and is counted as one of the 8 games. There is no tournament for 8U Machine Pitch.
Games will typically be held at Arvada fields, typically Youth Memorial for 8U Machine Pitch, and games are typically held at Youth Memorial, Pioneer Fields, Long Lake and Lutz fields in Arvada locations. Games that are played against neighboring locations/programs will be held at their locations.
Registration and Coaches:
Fall Ball Registration will typically open following the Spring Season.
If you would like to coach a team, please reach out to office@njjba.org and let us know if you will be bringing an entire team, or partial. If you are bringing an entire team we do offer a few options for full team registration depending on if you would like practice time and/or jerseys. Please reach out for further information.
Most of the existing coaches know what players they would like on their team, so in order to make the rostering more efficient, you will be providing NJJBA with a list of players. All teams will need at least 9 players to be considered a team for the fall.
You will be given the option to have one outdoor practice field per week. You will also be allowed to access our indoor practice facility one time per week. All practices are at the coaches discretion, but you may not get the date/time you want as there is high demand for fields and this is not baseball season.
Please ensure you follow our Fall Rules for the entire season, until the end of season tournament. This is critical to provide a great experience in Fall for all participants.
New Coaches/Teams:
If you have not previously coached for NJJBA and would like to coach a team in the Fall season, please contact the Coaches Director at coachdirector@njjba.org.
New coaches may have to be subject to a background check and approval by the coach director.
Full teams from other leagues may possibly join the NJJBA Fall Ball Season. Please contact us for further details. NJJBA will need to know the age group and level of play. You must have a minimum of 9 players already designated to your team. There may be some available players to add to your roster, but only after the NJJBA teams have been assembled.
Existing Coaches/Teams:
If you have coached previously at NJJBA and are wanting to coach your team in the Fall season, or if you will be having an assistant coach.
